seasonal summer?
Cold, drab and rainy. And yet .... the Tay Veggies were cosy in Manna sitting round a table enjoying heartwarming vegan and veggie dishes of bow pasta, potato, green salads, aubergine couscous, falafales (eeks spelling!) chickpea curry, courgette, spinach quiches - too many dishes to remember and head stuffy with hayfever so brain hurting more than usual! For desert there was Val's naughty chocolate mousse from the "Rainbows and Wellies" cookbook and then a healthy balance of cherries and dates, and if two more tay veggies had come in the door, we could have made a footie team! All this and Ry Cooder a-strumming and a-singing in the background (well the CD) what more could you want for a great veggy night out? Everyone chatting and laughing and getting along and mucking in with setting up and clearing away at the end of the night ...just like being at home. Anyhoo, rain? Was it raining? summer seasonal tay veggies
'Was having a look at one of TVS seasonal recipes from the "Season to Taste" booklet for this month of June. Very tasty it looked with courgettes, aubergines etc. But here's the thing. Both my handy wee blender and big clumsy food processor decided to die on me. In the same week! The recipe called for breadcrumbs and either I'm too lazy/aint got time to stand and make bread crumbs with the ol' grater! It takes me for ever and I get carumbas everywhere! So guys if you have good crumb tips please share! Otherwise will put Grilled Vegetable Tian on the back burner, so to speak! Away to flick through recipes and think what to bring tomoz at Manna Viv x

What the Tay Veggies got up to ....
Well! We kicked off with a picnic at beautiful Balmerino which was a lot of fun! Fresh air and running around a 400 year old chestnut tree like maniacs gave us all huge appetites. Our toddler Tay Veggie member voted raspberries as the top taste of the afternoon! Click on the "new" photo's to see! Next celebration was a Dainty Nibbles Night at Taste Fresh Deli, Dundee where we invited the public to come along and chat, graze, browse and plant seeds - later! We sampled products from Frys (many thanks to Lisa from Beanies!) including burgers, hot dogs, sausage rolls, sausages and polony. We also had dainty nibbles of vegan chocolate and liquorice and Art served up a dish of smoked tofu with a lime and coriander sauce, mmmmmm Mama! Veggie info and recipes giveaway NVW seeds plus Cauldron's money off vouchers and all in the comfort of Art's braw Deli! Cheers Art! Catch the action pix! LOL! The following night we had Gayl's Informal Thing which was a chilled out evening of tea/coffee and veggy yummy wholesome cakes plus a glass of wine and lots of chat. Thank you Gayl! Great week, met lovely new people, old friends and sampled different veggy food products. And you know what, our Tay Veggy numbers maybe small but our enthusiasm is extreme! Tay Veggies Extreme (tee hee!) will be in Manna on Tuesday 24 June for a shared veggy seasonal pot luck supper. See ya there! Peace & Lurve Viv

	Sally McLeish Hi Viv, How are you? I was home for a flying visit a couple of weeks ago and got your Easter card! Thank you very much! I'm back in Aberdeen at the moment after an exciting trip to Uganda then a not-quite-so-exciting placement in Shetland. I've only got 4 weeks left of uni, then exams, then I'll be a real doctor (hopefully) - scary stuff! 	I Love You i'm only 15 but have been a vegetarian for 3years and i love it, i don't see why people think it's so hard, i swear people have no will power anymore, how can you love animals and then eat them talk about hippocrites sheesh !!!! makes me so angry when people wont listen or make fun of vegetarians we rule !!!
